About Us Equine Veterinary Care (EVC) is a progressive, multi‑location equine sports medicine practice rooted in excellence, collaboration, and compassionate care. Our flagship facility is based at the world‑class Fair Hill Training Center in Elkton, Maryland, where we serve a diverse population of Thoroughbred racehorses and performance horses across MD, PA, and DE.

Now, we’re bringing EVC’s high standard of equine care to

Parkland, Florida , just south of Wellington—an area that combines the excitement of Standardbred racing with the sophistication of English performance horse sport. While this location is new to EVC, it supports an

already established and loyal client base , offering a smooth transition into a thriving, well‑rounded caseload of approximately

60% Standardbred racing and 40% English performance horses .

The Opportunity We’re seeking a motivated and skilled

Equine Sports Medicine Veterinarian

to lead and grow our Florida satellite location. This is an ideal role for someone who thrives in a hands‑on, client‑focused environment and enjoys the variety of both racetrack and sport horse work. You’ll benefit from the autonomy of a locally based position while having the full backing and collaboration of EVC’s experienced Maryland team for case consultations, mentorship, and support.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Work:

Perform lameness evaluations, imaging, joint therapies, regenerative treatments, and other performance medicine procedures for both racing and sport horses.

Ambulatory Services:

Provide on‑farm and track‑side care, including wellness exams, diagnostics, dentistry, and emergency services.

Client Relationships:

Maintain and strengthen trusted partnerships with existing trainers, owners, and barn managers through consistent communication and dependable service.

Collaboration:

Partner with EVC veterinarians across both locations to share expertise, resources, and best practices.

Emergency Coverage:

Participate in a shared on‑call rotation, with flexibility to maintain a healthy work‑life balance.

Qualifications

DVM/VMD or equivalent, eligible for licensure in Florida

Experience or strong interest in equine sports medicine, preferably with racing or performance horse focus

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Strong diagnostic and therapeutic competency

Self‑motivated with a team‑oriented, collaborative mindset
