Job Description The RHSB Machine Operators are entry-level operators who run packaging machines, assembling boxes, properly aligning them on injection molding, blow molding, or reheat stretch processing machines, and preparing product for shipment. They also inspect, label, seal, scan, and stack boxes on skids.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Safely handle and operate any machinery, tools or equipment used.
Ensure proper use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) at all times; bump caps, hair/beard net, safety glasses, gloves, ear plugs, and safety shoes.
Comply with different machine rotations and packing styles.
Select appropriate size boxes, assemble with tape gun, and scan items.
Align 6-9 assembled boxes on the machine without blocking aisles or exits.
Determine if the order requires caps, insert liners and caps as needed, and place boxes on the conveyor.
Randomly sample boxes for visible defects and report any defects immediately.
Fold liner over product to avoid contamination.
Retrieve label from label machinery and place it on the completed box.
Identify and assess documents and machinery.
Maintain a clean workspace, sweeping, trash removal, and restocking packing items.
Conditions of Employment
Climate ranging from 70-100°F.
No jewelry or facial piercings.
No cellphones on production floor; personal items kept in lockers.
No pocket knives or firearms on company grounds.
Always wear specified PPE.
Abide by Safety, GMP, and quality regulations.
Potential exposure to fumes, airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, vibration, loud noise, and seasonal weather; proper PPE required.
Reasonable mandatory overtime may be required due to business needs.
Physical Demands
Remain stationary for extended periods.
Move around production floor.
Communicate with subordinates.
Position to ground level as needed.
Move, adjust, and lift items weighing 10-25 lbs.
Identify and assess documents and machinery.
Preferred Experience
Minimum of 6 months machine operating experience.
Experience in a manufacturing environment.
High School diploma or equivalent.
Safety awareness.
Computer skills.
