Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Works under the direct supervision of a Journeyman Electrician and must be able to demonstrate safe work habits and proper care of tools and equipment. Assists with materials handling, installation of materials, devices and equipment.
Identify and eliminate hazardous conditions at the job site.
Maintain the job site in a safe, neat and orderly condition.
Handle and stage materials, equipment and tools.
Assist with layout, wire pulls, and installation.
May be required to operate heavy equipment.
Assist with cable tray installations, device installations, and lighting connections.
Receive On-the-job learning (OJL) as part of the apprenticeship program.
Attend class and make satisfactory progress with apprenticeship program completion.
Safely operate hand and power tools.
Possess the ability to read and interpret instructions, maps, and manuals.
Positive safety attitude and personal integrity.
Legally operate company vehicles and equipment.
Working Conditions
Work in all elements (rain, snow, heat, etc.).
Keep work tools with them at all times (work belt, bag, etc.).
Use all types of ladders including step ladders up to 14 feet, “A” Frame and all-size extension ladders and relocate a 12-foot ladder by one’s self.
Perform work at various heights, up to 90 feet from ladders, scaffolds, aerial lifts, and cat walks and be able to work in restricted areas.
Wear protective personal equipment (PPE).
Qualifications & Requirements
Minimum age of 18.
Provide I-9 documents to establish work eligibility.
Evidence of High School Diploma or GED; high school transcript if necessary.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
DD 214 (if veteran).
Physical Requirements
Must be able to successfully pass a drug test, physical and background check.
Good color acuity (determine wire colors).
Must be able to bend, squat, crawl, climb, kneel, push, pull and reach overhead.
Able to work at least 40 hours a week and overtime and night shift as needed.
Lift at least 50 pounds.
Constant moving on your feet.
Climb ladders of all types.
