Welder Helper- Sheet Metal

**Job Description:****Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:*** Assists Welder I and Welder II in various welding tasks as directed.* Prepares workpieces for welding by cleaning, grinding, and scraping as necessary.* Helps set up welding equipment and tools under supervision.* Handles and stores welding materials and equipment properly.* Operates power tools and hand tools under guidance.* Reads and interprets basic welding blueprints and instructions.* Assists in tack welding components together for final welding.* Supports Welder I and Welder II in maintaining a safe and clean work environment.* Learns and follows safety procedures and guidelines at all times.* Assists in training and mentoring new helpers as needed.**Education and Experience Requirements:**This is an entry level position. Must be at least 18 years of age.**Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:*** Ability to follow instructions and procedures.* Excellent communication skills.* Basic knowledge of hand and power tools.* Basic math skills.* Ability to operate and maintain production equipment.* Knowledge of safety procedures and regulations.* Ability to learn and adapt to new processes and technologies.**Work Environment:*** Ability to work in manufacturing facilities and regularly be exposed to varying and extreme temperatures, loud noises, dust, chemical fumes, sharp metal objects and heavy forklift traffic.* This position is designated as a safety-sensitive job and therefore subject to drug and alcohol testing, including random testing.**Location:**Longview, TX**Title:**Welder Helper- Sheet Metal #J-18808-Ljbffr
