Position This is a float position. It requires a valid driver's license & reliable transportation.
Minimum 2 years of experience.
Experience with specimen processing and handling required (centrifuge, shipping samples). Mon‑Fri 7am‑5:30pm availability required. Must be willing to travel to various locations and have flexibility with schedule changes.
Summary The main function of a phlebotomist is to assist in performing various assigned duties, troubleshoot, train and make workflow recommendations.
Position Responsibilities Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information, etc. Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures. Properly explains in a clear but courteous manner the process of venipuncture (blood drawing) and or other specimen collection (e.g., urine or fecal) as required. Demonstrates technique(s) using straight needles and/or butterfly needles. Fully understands all of the physicians' orders. Matches laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes. Labels, centrifuges, splits, and freezes specimens as required by test order. Checks all test requisitions or computer labels against scripts to ensure 100% correctness. Packages specimens for transport. Stores specimen samples according to required temperature, places samples in
