Job Description
Responsible for the efficient operation of the Central Repack equipment. Diagnose issues and perform adjustments and preventative maintenance as needed. Operates box-forming and closing equipment.
Schedule Monday - Friday from 6:45am - 3:15pm. Subject to change, based on business needs.
Essential Job Duties
Responsible for the efficient operation of equipment, including box forming/closing, printers, applicators, weighers, and auto-stacker.
Sets up, adjusts, repairs, tests, calibrates, and operates equipment.
Diagnoses problems and performs mechanical and electronic adjustments as needed.
Determines when equipment issues need to be escalated to maintenance staff and/or equipment vendor, and communicates in a clear, concise manner.
Maintains equipment. Regularly cleans labeler (roller, belts) and inspects machine parts for damage.
Observes the operation of the machine to detect a malfunction. Is familiar with equipment and is able to anticipate issues/adjustments.
Creates and maintains SOPs for handling equipment.
Keeps accurate records of downtime, raw material defects, and recipes.
Regularly communicates issues to management and makes recommendations on how to achieve the most efficient operation of equipment.
Knows all functions of the equipment and can perform all jobs related to Central Repack.
As needed, provides training to other employees.
Operates box-forming and closing equipment
Feeds flat boxes into the box former.
Performs changeovers to former, closer, check weigher, and stacker as needed to run various boxes.
Checks for quality of boxes.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
High school diploma or equivalent
Previous mechanical and electronic experience.
Preventive maintenance methods. Ability to identify equipment malfunctions and safety hazards.
Skilled in using hand tools.
Mechanical aptitude with close attention to detail
Ability to stay calm in a stressful, fast-paced environment
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Must be able to speak clearly and intelligently regarding equipment issues
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
