Lake George Association is hiring a full-time Director of Government Relations.

About Lake George Association Founded in 1885 as the first lake conservation organization in the country, the Lake George Association is the preeminent lake protection entity dedicated to protecting the Queen of American Lakes in Upstate New York. Through cutting‑edge science by way of the Jefferson Project — a collaboration between the LGA, RPI and IBM — the LGA protects the largest lake in the Adirondack Park from five key threats: Invasive Species, Road Salt, Nutrient Pollution, Harmful Algal Blooms (HABs) and Climate Change.

Position Summary We seek a proven leader who can help translate science into effective policy, build strong relationships with decision-makers and help move proven solutions forward at both the local and state levels, with an emphasis on Albany‑based advocacy. The Director of Government Relations will work closely with LGA leadership, scientists and community partners to advance priority policy areas, including nutrient pollution reduction, invasive species management, LID, road salt reduction and other watershed protection initiatives. The role will also support coalition‑building, legislative engagement and strategic advocacy campaigns that elevate Lake George and the LGA as a model for freshwater protection across New York State.
