The Manufacturing Hangers & Multi‑Trade Fabrication Technician is responsible for the fabrication, assembly, and installation of various types of hangers and supports used in electrical, plumbing, and sheet metal systems. This role requires the ability to work across multiple trades, read drawings, operate fabrication equipment, and ensure all work meets quality, safety, and project specifications. Hanger Manufacturing & Fabrication: fabricate and assemble metal hangers, brackets, supports, and related components. Cut, bend, drill, and shape materials such as steel, aluminum, and strut. Operate shop equipment including band saws, drills, presses, shears, and hand tools. Measure and inspect finished products for accuracy and quality. Build and prepare hangers and supports for: Electrical systems (conduit, cable trays, panels); Plumbing systems (piping, valves, fixtures); Sheet metal systems (ductwork, HVAC components). Assist with layout and preparation based on drawings and field requirements. Coordinate with electricians, plumbers, and sheet metal workers to ensure proper fit and function. Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and specifications. Follow project standards, codes, and company procedures. Provide feedback on constructability and efficiency improvements. Follow all safety policies and OSHA regulations. Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required. Maintain a clean and organized work area. Qualifications
Experience in manufacturing, fabrication, or construction support. Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and sheet metal systems. Ability to read tape measures, blueprints, and shop drawings. Familiarity with hand and power tools. Ability to lift materials and stand for extended periods. Trade experience or training in electrical, plumbing, or sheet metal desired. Experience fabricating strut systems and custom hangers preferred. Forklift or shop equipment certification preferred. Ability to work independently or as part of a team ideal, but not required. Skills & Competencies in an ideal candidate: mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, time management and organization, problem‑solving skills and strong communication and teamwork. This position is in a manufacturing shop and/or construction support environment. There will be exposure to noise, metal dust, and fabrication equipment. May require overtime depending on project demands. This position requires the ability to lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds on a frequent basis. The employee must be able to perform tasks involving physical labor, including lifting, pushing, pulling, and carrying materials, tools, or equipment. Manual material handling must be performed in accordance with OSHA safety standards and company policies to minimize risk of injury.
