POSITION TITLE: Mixing Operator DEPARTMENT:Operations JOB LOCATION: Wayne, MI SHIFT/SCHEDULE: All REPORTS TO: Mixing Lead NO. OF DIRECT REPORTS: none

POSITION OVERVIEW: The Mixing Operator at QuestSpecialty will conduct the mixing of chemical formulations in a proper manner as described on batch tickets. Proper storage and handling of chemicals used in formulation. Ensure that all batch tickets are properly filled out and turned into lab along with a sample for testing. Abide by all QuestSpecialty’s policies and procedures.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Complete batch tickets in the order listed on schedule, and in the manner described in the mixing procedures or batch ticket. The Lead will update you on any changes necessary. Do not make any batches alone unless approved by the lead or manager.

Read batch ticket for PPE and special mixing instructions; notify material handlers of chemicalsneeded for batch, if it is necessary to pull your own chemicals complete location transfers in ERP system.

Ensure all Quality Control procedures are followed.

Ensure that all Personal Protective Equipment requirements are met.

Ensure all mixing equipment, tanks, and storage totes are clean and dry prior to use.

Adhere to all HSSE procedures and PPE requirements as necessary including but not limited to waste handling, spill prevention, flammable material handling, and all others.

Perform visual inspections of raw materials prior to adding to mix tank (double check all labels);if any material is questionable (odor, discolored, etc.) sample material to QC.

Document quantity of raw materials on batch tickets as items are added to the mix tank and initial the batch ticket.

Turn in a sample mix along with completed batch ticket to QC for testing.

Maintain a clean, safe workplace at all times, keeping hoses/equipment out of the walkways and off the floor when not in use, cleaning any materials spilled immediately, removing/labeling unlabeled containers in work area, etc.

Have an active role in responding to (containing, cleaning, etc.) spills throughout the facility when needed.

Assist in other mixing areas, as needed.

Complete training required by department guidelines.

Any other duties or projects which may be assigned.

REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma or equivalent required. Prior experience with mixing chemical formulation preferred.

Must be able to pass pre-employment physical and drug screen.

The ability to spend 90%+ of an average day on your feet.

Ability to lift 50 pounds consistently.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Work performed in a manufacturing and warehouse setting.

Non-climate-controlled work areas subject to seasonal temperature changes.

Frequent exposure to moving equipment, forklifts, and moderate-to-high noise levels (hearing protection provided as needed).

Requires adherence to strict safety protocols and hazard awareness at all times.
