Job Title: Full‑time Employment Specialist Location: Syracuse, NY
Salary: Starting at $18.00 per hour
Job Overview The Employment Specialist will coach persons with developmental disabilities and prepare them for employment. The role involves developing essential job skills and assisting in job placement.
Responsibilities
Provide assistance for people with disabilities to be placed in competitive employment.
Coach the person with disabilities to develop independent job skills.
Work side‑by‑side with persons with disabilities at job sites.
Reinforce essential skills or teach new skills such as developing a resume, conducting a successful job interview, and completing a job application.
Accurately complete all documentation.
Additional tasks and responsibilities may be assigned.
Cooperate with license and department staff in any inspection, inquiry, or investigation.
Minimum Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent.
Two years’ full‑time work experience supporting people with disabilities.
Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record.
Employment contingent upon successful completion of background checks, central registry, child abuse registry, and drug testing.
