When will I work?
Primary schedule – 6:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday through Thursday. Overtime may be required as needed.
Where is this opportunity located? Brookings, SD, in our HSPR department.
Effectively Accurately and Safely Perform Shipping Duties
Preparation of documents for domestic and international shipments, including bills of lading, packing lists, commercial invoices, certificates of origin, and others.
Preparation of documents and shipment of hazardous product.
Shipment preparation, including pulling parts, packaging, and recording required information.
Load trucks by safely operating a forklift and pushing, positioning boxes and crates.
Complete and pass the crane and forklift certification.
Assist with damage freight shipments, customer relations concerning shipments, expedited shipments, shipping reports, and rate quotes.
Other shipments, including demo equipment and returns from purchasing department requests.
Accurately perform shipping inventory duties, including issue and commit parts.
Communicate with project manager, accounting, sales manager, manufacturing departments, customer service, and plant leaders to verify authorization to ship prior to shipment and other related issues.
Effectively plan and organize shipments for the week and communicate this plan to plant and BU leadership.
Be flexible and able to change priorities when asked or needed to meet ship dates.
Assist department in cleanup of workspace.
Become knowledgeable of company policies and procedures.
Regularly and reliably work the scheduled hours. Ability to work overtime when workload requires.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required.
Previous experience in receiving, warehouse inventory, or materials management preferred. Understanding of material flow in a manufacturing environment also preferred.
Computer skills: Glovia, UPS Maxiship System, Word, Excel, and Microsoft Outlook.
Good math skills and ability to accurately record number sequences.
Good communication skills.
Ability to work on own and be a self‑starter.
Physical requirements include the ability to:
Distinguish and identify wire and paint colors.
Read fine print with or without the use of corrective lenses.
Work with odors (solder, paint, solvent, manufacturing odors).
Lift and carry heavy (up to 50 lbs.) and or awkward items.
Stand or sit for the full shift and have full range of motion (including but not limited to bending and lifting) required to perform the job functions.
Maintain steady hand‑eye coordination.
Reach in all directions and in potentially awkward positions.
Wear all proper protective equipment as required in the work area in accordance with Daktronics Safety Policy and OSHA standards (e.g., safety glasses, safety shoes/boots, hearing protection, electrostatic discharge wear, etc.).
Daktronics experience preferred.
Ability to travel by air and ground. Valid driver’s license. Must meet and maintain Daktronics Qualified Driver status. Motor‑vehicle records will be checked.
Fluent in English, written and verbal.
