Job Title: WCCC Operations Associate Department: FAES | Wooster Campus Conference Center The Ohio State University Wooster Campus Conference Center is seeking an Operations Associate to provide operational support for event setup, tear down, and execution across multiple Wooster Campus venues, ensuring safe and efficient movement of equipment and maintaining a clean environment. Reviews event documentation and task lists to complete assignments as instructed and contributes as part of a small conference center team. Operates material handling equipment as needed and assists with occasional catering and bartending tasks, including food and beverage setup and dismantle. Maintains inventory and proper stock of supplies and equipment in designated storage areas. Performs general janitorial duties such as sweeping, mopping, floor care, carpet extraction, glass cleaning, dusting, restroom upkeep, and waste removal to ensure facilities remain clean and presentable for events and daily operations. This position may include varying work hours including working evening and weekend hours. This position is located in Wooster, Ohio. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Assists with the setup and tear down and overall event execution at multiple locations across the Wooster Campus, including the Shisler Conference Center, Fisher Auditorium, Secrest Welcome & Education Center and Arboretum, Stone House and the Thorne House, etc. Reviews event documents and task lists for area setup and dismantle and completes all tasks as instructed. Contributes as part of a small conference center team. Operate material handling equipment, as necessary. Maintains a safe and clean environment and coordinates equipment movement in a safe and efficient manner. Occasional bartending and catering needs including food and beverage set-up and tear down. Maintain inventory in proper storage areas. Maintain appropriate stock of supplies and equipment to perform assigned tasks. General janitorial functions such as, but not limited to sweeping, mopping, scrubbing floors, stripping composite floors, extracting carpet, washing glass/windows/mirrored surfaces, washing walls, cleaning stainless steel, dusting, replenishing supplies, bailing cardboard, rubbish, and debris removal. Cleanup spills, breakages, and debris in the facility as required. Cleanup and restock bathroom facilities as required. Disposes of all waste, including bulk trash removal from building in all areas. Other duties as assigned. Minimum Required Skills and Abilities

Must have ability to become familiar with facility floor plan and acquainted with all sections of the facility. Upon training, must possess ability to operate machinery used by department (such as scrubbers, chair carts, dishwasher, and vacuum cleaners and extractors). This position requires the ability to communicate well with all individuals and work as a team player. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty with energy and enthusiasm. Must have the ability to interact with guests in a friendly, courteous, and polite manner and understand the importance of customer service. This will include initiating contact with guests, greeting guests, and helping guests when needed. Must have the ability to read and understand English and feel comfortable in a large group setting and speaking with guests. Must understand the importance of providing exceptional customer service. Minimum Experience and Education

One year of relevant experience in custodial/janitorial/meeting set up experience in hotels, hospitals, offices, or hospitality services required. 2 years of relevant experience preferred. Bartending experience and ServSafe Certification preferred. PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Exposure to adverse weather conditions and to various cleaning chemicals. Must have the ability to work flexible/irregular hours. Position requires extensive walking, heavy lifting, climbing, carrying, stooping, crawling, equipment operation both indoors and out, and the ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
