As a
Surgery Scheduler , you play a vital role on our Surgery Counselor Team by guiding patients through their surgical experience. You will provide education, coordinate scheduling, and ensure all required documentation is completed accurately and on time.
Schedule
Monday-Friday, 7:00 a.m.-3:30 p.m.
30-40 hours per week
Full-time
Key Responsibilities
Counsel patients regarding all surgical procedures
Schedule patients for surgery and coordinate surgical appointments
Verify medical insurance for surgeries and injections
Discuss benefits, coverage, and costs of non-covered services with patients
Complete consent forms and all required surgical documentation
Prepare and send appropriate paperwork to surgical facilities and hospitals
Educate patients on pre‑admission testing, day‑of‑surgery expectations, and post‑operative follow‑up care
Answer pre‑surgical questions and address patient concerns
Prepare medical history and physical forms
Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications Required
High school diploma or GED
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong multitasking abilities
Proficiency with computers and electronic systems
Preferred
Knowledge of ICD coding and medical terminology
Experience with the Misys computer system
Familiarity with eye anatomy
