Overview
The City of Dublin is pleased to announce a 1st shift vacancy for a Maintenance Worker in our Facilities Division. This position is open to all USW bargaining unit employees, as well as internal and external applicants. Hours of work : 1st Shift, 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Tuesday - Saturday. The position requires working evenings, weekends, holidays, during planned and unplanned overtime events. Primary Focus
Working alone or as part of a crew, performs a wide range of maintenance and repair tasks utilizing specialized hand tools, various types of motorized vehicles, and specialized mechanical and electrical equipment. Activities performed require working inside and outside, in all weather conditions, performing light to heavy manual labor maintenance tasks. Responsibilities
include: Perform routine preventative maintenance on mechanical equipment; maintaining general plumbing, HVAC and electrical systems; performing skilled carpentry work related to drywall, doors, windows, ceiling, and floors; snow removal; other maintenance duties as assigned. Essential Functions
Utilizes a variety of hand tools based on the functions necessary to perform specific job duties. Utilizes computer software to complete work orders, maintain routine records, and specialized assignments. Maintains and ensures equipment is in good operating condition. Conducts inventory of supplies and material; informs supervisor of any needed supplies. Performs assembly and disassembly of furniture and work stations; assists with the moving of furniture and equipment from one location to another. Ensures proper utilization of safety procedures at all times. Continuously and consistently demonstrate the initiative and responsibility to work in an efficient and productive manner with or without direct supervision. Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or GED equivalent supplemented with experience in construction and maintenance work, including the operation of motorized, mechanical and electronic equipment. Facilities Specialized Functions
Performs preventative maintenance and makes repairs to HVAC and related mechanical equipment, CNG fueling, plumbing and electrical systems. Maintain facilities to include doors, windows, ceilings, floors, walls, plumbing, heating, ventilation, etc. Performs custodial duties. Other maintenance-related duties as assigned. Must Have
Minimum three years' experience troubleshooting and repairing old and new mechanical, low voltage electrical systems OR three years' experience performing finished carpentry work in a residential or commercial office setting. Knowledge of the methods, materials, and equipment used in construction and maintenance work. Knowledge of the safe and correct use of hand and power tools and equipment common to the maintenance and repair work. Knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions of the work to which assigned. Knowledge of computer data entry and software programs. Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions. Desired Qualifications
Perform plumbing repairs including faucets, sinks, urinals, toilets, drains and valves. Perform troubleshooting analysis and repairs on electrical systems and HVAC units. Perform building repairs including drywall, painting, ceiling tiles and grid, door and door hardware. Knowledge of automated control systems. Knowledge in or aptitude and eagerness to learn the operation and maintenance of Compressed Natural Gas System. Familiarity with and usage of Lock-out/Tag-out. Necessary Special Requirements
Possession of a valid Ohio Driver's License. This position requires a valid Ohio Commercial Driver's License (CDL) or the ability and willingness to obtain such license within the first year of employment. May require working irregular shifts to accommodate business needs. Subject to call-in snow removal operations and emergency situations. Physical Requirements
Ability to move, lift, and otherwise transfer equipment and supplies manually weighing up to 35 pounds and up to and exceeding 50 pounds with manual or mechanical assistance. Ability to maneuver over and under equipment and in small work areas while performing essential functions. Ability to use the necessary tools, specialized equipment, and automotive equipment in the performance of required skills. Ability to work in extreme weather conditions. Ability to demonstrate dexterity in the use of hands and feet. Ability to work under emergency conditions in support of fire and police operations. Ability to perform tasks requiring stooping, bending, climbing ladders and stairs, and working on roofs. Other Requirements
Regular attendance, as governed by and in accordance with applicable rules, regulations, procedures and laws, is regarded as an essential requirement of this classification. Compliance with training directives established by supervisory/managerial personnel. Adherence to all applicable Federal and State safety laws, rules, and regulations and City safety policies/procedures. Please note:
This position is subject to call in during snow removal operations and emergency situations which may require working irregular shifts. If called in during such situations, must report to work within 35 minutes of call per collective bargaining agreement.
