**Position Summary/Purpose:**Grand Canyon University (GCU) maintains relationships with nonprofit organizations identified by the IRS as 501(c)(3) by virtue of their charitable programs. The collective mission of 501(c)(3) organizations in the Phoenix Valley is to improve the quality of life for community residents or to solve particular problems related to those residents’ needs.GCU maintains a partnership with the Society of St. Vincent de Paul located at 420 W Watkins Road, Phoenix, AZ, 85003. St. Vincent de Paul provides services to the homeless, food boxes for the food-insecure, medical/dental care for uninsured patients, and housing/shelter for the unhoused. The CSLP student worker’s work schedule is dependent on the hours of operations and needs of St. Vincent de Paul; however, CSLP student workers may not work more than 20 hours per week during the academic year (i.e., fall/spring).*CSLP: This position has been reviewed and approved as Community Service as defined by 34 CFR 675.2(b). Per 34 CFR 675.2(b), community services are defined as, “Services which are designed to improve the quality of life for community residents, particularly low-income individuals, or to solve particular problems related to their need.” These services must be open and accessible to the community.**As an FWS-CSLP approved position, its services will be offered to non-GCU community members (i.e., local residents).*Note: All FWS and FWS-CSLP positions require applicants to complete their Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at https://studentaid.gov/h/apply-for-aid/fafsa to be reviewed for FWS-eligibility and awarded FWS.**Primary Responsibilities/Accountabilities/Essential Functions:*** Engage clients seeking workforce development support in the Lodestar Day Resource Center (LDRC).* Work in partnership with other providers to complete administrative work to support the eligibility and intake processes at The Co-Lab including monitoring front desk, conducting screenings, scheduling intakes, and determining “best-fit” referrals to appropriate programs.* Learn about other providers and programs in the LDRC to ensure proper client navigation.* Ensures completeness and eligibility of applications.* Organizes and maintains paperwork for intake-related processes.* Assist with eligibility/intake assessments.* Supports front desk operations, including ensuring phone coverage.* In conjunction with case managers, maintains contact with former residents to monitor employment & housing retention.* Expand capacity for case managers as directed.* Assists case managers with various tasks as needed.* Support Workforce Program Manager and team as needed.* Other duties as assigned.**Equipment Used and Responsibility:*** MS Office Suite**Qualifications:*** Have passion and willingness to help others succeed.* Possess strong ethics, integrity, and sense of responsibility.* Must have reliable transportation.* *Previous Mentoring a plus.** *Ability to speak a second language a plus.***Experience/Education:**Grand Canyon University is committed to a student first policy.
