Position Summary As a Purchasing Assistant you will manage the purchasing process for goods categories, increasing value for the business and creating new financial opportunities aligned with company strategies, guidelines and procedures.

Hourly rate:

$26.44 an hour.

Essential Job Functions

Negotiate purchasing terms with suppliers to meet internal stakeholders’ expectations.

Manage goods categories in accordance with technical requirements and business optimization goals.

Promote economies of scale and improve relationships, centralizing supplier management.

Participate in supplier selection processes.

Monitor supplier suitability relative to group needs.

Implement best practices for the purchasing process.

Interface with the Sofidel America Purchasing Department and other corporate departments during operations execution.

Job Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Purchasing, Supply Chain Management or equivalent business experience.

3+ years of purchasing and customer service experience in a manufacturing industry.

Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Strong organizational skills with ability to multi‑task and work independently.

Ability to work under time pressure and meet deadlines.

Experience with SAP (preferred).

Physical Demands Standard lifting and standing requirements apply. Employees may need to lift 11‑20 lbs, 21‑50 lbs, and occasionally 51‑100 lbs. Working conditions include standing, walking, and sitting for extended periods, speaking, hearing clearly, and reaching above shoulder height. The job also involves climbing and occasional squatting or kneeling.

Work Environment Personal protective equipment (PPE) is required in the plant and warehouse areas, including safety shoes, eye and ear protection, reflective vests, hairnets or hats, and additional necessary gear. Temperatures vary seasonally. Employees are exposed to paper dust and noise levels requiring hearing protection.
