Copywriter/Proofreader CONTRACT – Hybrid in Golden Valley, MN
Our healthcare client is seeking a skilled Freelance Copywriter with strong technical, healthcare, or medical device writing experience to support both our provider (B2B) and direct-to-consumer (D2C) communications. This role is ideal for a versatile writer who can move confidently between clinical accuracy and patient‑friendly clarity, while maintaining our brand voice and regulatory standards.
This is a 6‑month initial engagement with the intent to transition to a contract‑to‑hire arrangement based on performance and business needs.
Key Responsibilities
Write, edit, and proofread clear, accurate, and engaging copy for healthcare provider and partner communications (B2B) and patient‑facing and consumer marketing materials (D2C).
Technical and clinical content related to medical devices and therapies.
Develop content for a variety of channels, such as web pages, landing pages, and digital campaigns; brochures, fact sheets, and sales enablement materials; email campaigns, nurture sequences, and newsletters; educational and clinical support materials for providers and patients.
Translate complex clinical and technical concepts into accessible, audience‑appropriate language while preserving scientific accuracy.
Collaborate closely with marketing, clinical, regulatory, and sales teams to ensure all content is on‑brand, compliant, and strategically aligned.
Adapt and refine existing content for different audiences, formats, and channels.
Ensure all deliverables are thoroughly proofread and error‑free, adhering to style guides, tone, and terminology standards.
Incorporate feedback from stakeholders and iterate quickly while maintaining high quality.
Qualifications
Proven experience as a copywriter with a strong portfolio demonstrating technical or scientific writing in healthcare, medical device, or related life sciences content, including both B2B and D2C work samples.
Demonstrated ability to write, edit, and proofread with exceptional attention to detail.
Experience interpreting clinical or technical source materials (e.g., studies, clinical data, product specifications) and turning them into clear, compelling copy.
Familiarity with healthcare or medical device regulations and considerations for marketing/educational content (e.g., accuracy, fair balance, appropriate claims).
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with comfort working cross‑functionally and receiving feedback from diverse stakeholders.
Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Life Sciences, or a related field preferred, or equivalent professional experience.
Employment type: Freelance
Initial term: 6 months

Hours and schedule: To be determined in collaboration with Inspire Medical Systems; availability for regular check‑ins and reviews required.
