Job Description Position Overview We are seeking an experienced and driven Ferrous and Non-Ferrous Commodity Trading Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 10 years of proven experience in the acquisition and sale of ferrous and non-ferrous scrap materials, with a strong emphasis on stainless steel grades such as 304, 316, and 330. This position plays a critical role in expanding our market presence, developing new business opportunities, and managing inventory to support and enhance our existing operations.
Key Responsibilities
Identify, acquire, and sell ferrous and non-ferrous scrap materials, with a focus on stainless steel grades 304, 316, and 330.
Develop and implement strategies to enter new markets and expand the company’s trading footprint.
Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, customers, and industry stakeholders.
Monitor market trends, pricing, and global demand to optimize trading decisions and inventory management.
Negotiate contracts and terms to ensure favorable outcomes for the company.
Meet and exceed quarterly Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) as established by management.
Collaborate with internal teams to coordinate logistics, compliance, and support functions.
Prepare and present regular reports on sales performance, market developments, and inventory status.
Qualifications
Minimum of 10 years’ experience in ferrous and non-ferrous scrap material trading.
Demonstrated expertise in stainless steel grades 304, 316, and 330.
Proven track record of market development and business growth in the commodities sector.
Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship management skills.
Ability to analyze market data and make informed trading decisions.
Experience with inventory management and supply chain processes.
Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and able to thrive in a dynamic environment.
Willingness and ability to travel a minimum of 50% of the time.
Availability to work in-office when not traveling.
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, or a related field preferred.

Quarterly sales and acquisition targets for ferrous and non-ferrous scrap materials.
Market expansion and development of new supplier/customer relationships.
Inventory turnover rates and optimization metrics.
Profitability and margin improvement benchmarks.
Compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
Travel and Work Requirements
This position requires a minimum of 50% travel, both domestically and internationally, to meet with suppliers, customers, and industry partners.
When not traveling, the Commodity Trading Manager is expected to work from the company’s office location.
