Join the Civmec Team Civmec is currently seeking an experienced Planner to join our Shipbuilding team based in Henderson, WA. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the prestigious Royal Australian Navy Offshore Patrol Vessel (OPV) program, supporting the construction of world‑class naval assets.

In this role, you will play a key part in driving project planning outcomes, collaborating with a highly skilled team, and supporting the successful delivery of a nationally significant defence project.

The Role

Develop the ship schedule in Primavera P6 using prior ships’ schedules & WBS and incorporating lessons learned

Utilise the 3D model, drawings, the ships in construction & liaison with the team to thoroughly understand the scope of work

Organize and lead planning workshops with stakeholders

Work with work preparation engineers, production superintendents, project management, client, and subcontractor representatives to maintain the project schedule

Maintain Integration from the Work Orders database (populated by others) to the schedule for activity budget assignment & progress collection

Organise and lead schedule review meetings with stakeholders

Produce schedules including visual aids as required to communicate agreed schedules effectively

Identify issues and opportunities to the project team

Liaise with other Ship Planners to help balance the overall program schedule

Maintain company standards for Quality Assurance purposes

Present neat documentation, correspondence and records as requested

Provide accurate weekly and monthly reports as required

Perform other general duties that may be necessary to suit operational requirements as directed

About You To be successful in the role you will possess the following:

Experience in preparing and monitoring comprehensive project schedules is essential.

Tertiary qualifications in structural, mechanical, or construction management disciplines are preferred but not essential.

Proficiency in Primavera P6 and Microsoft Excel is essential.

Due to the Security Clearance required for this position, applicants must be an Australian Citizen and eligible to obtain and uphold a Baseline Security Clearance through the Australian Department of Defence.
