Job Description
Summary:
This individual will play an integral role in the company’s approach to internal communication and will work with a team to effectively share Southwire’s story visually across the company. They will be responsible for the development and design of logos, social media ads, posters, flyers, t-shirts and other printed and digital materials to communicate important information with Southwire leaders, team members, key stakeholders and community partners.
Responsibilities
Intermediate to advanced knowledge of design and print media required.
Ability to anticipate customer needs and synthesize requests to create visually appealing and easy‑to‑understand deliverables.
Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail, reviewing work for errors before sharing.
Skilled at receiving and responding to feedback from a variety of sources.
Ability to work on multiple projects and consistently meet deadlines.
Work closely with other communication team members and other departments to support internal communication needs and help develop efficient workflow and processes.
Create presentations for quarterly CEO “town hall” events.
Produce ads on a monthly basis to promote Southwire in local publications.
Support video production projects, including graphic design work and editing.
Other communication‑related duties as assigned (helping other team members, participating in Giving Back initiatives, attending events, etc.).
Qualifications and Experience Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communications, Graphic Design or related field and a robust portfolio of past work.
At least two (2) years of design or visual production work experience in a professional, results‑driven organization – OR – work experience combined with relevant highly rated coursework from an accredited institution.
Strong proficiency in using Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.) and Microsoft products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams and SharePoint).
Video production and editing experience preferred.
Ability to navigate in both Mac and PC environments.
Ability to work independently in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment.
Must possess strong time management and written/verbal communication skills.
Must be able to work with a variety of internal and external partners, including executives and senior leaders, company owners, community partners and other departments to meet business needs.
