Job Description The Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the College of Dentistry is seeking applicants for full-time OPS Clinical Service Representative serving as the primary phone liaison.
Responsibilities
Arrange/coordinate appointments for patients being referred to our clinic from other areas.
Prepare and mail necessary paperwork to all new scheduled patients.
Gather information from patients regarding their insurance for billing purposes, assists in collecting insurance information and collects patients charts to assist in the process.
Research patient information for correct addresses and/or phones numbers to resubmit returned statements for payment.
Contact new patients by phone confirming scheduled appointments.
Answer telephone calls and assist the callers as needed.
Serve as a backup to Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery clinic reception as needed.
Work departmental EOB’s daily to assure accuracy of claims processed.
Submit requested documentation to finalize a pending claim.
$15.00 - $17.00 per hour; commensurate with education and experience

Qualifications
Knowledge of general office procedures and practices
Working knowledge of basic math
Able to plan, organize and coordinate work activities
Able to follow instructions, written and verbal
Able to communicate effectively
Able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others
Able to review data for accuracy and completeness
Knowledge of dental and medical terminology (basic terms at least)
