JOB SUMMARY Reporting to the Planning Team Lead, this role is responsible for planning and maintaining the flow and inventory levels of materials to support all production areas, while minimizing the inventory investment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Complete ownership of supply chain for all inbound material, freight tracking, deviations, interfacing with Engineering, Purchasing and cross functional teams to avoid shortages and seek solutions to potential shortages. This role is primarily responsible for supporting Fabrication operations.
Monitors scheduled deliveries and communicates directly with suppliers and Fabrication team to ensure parts are delivered on time, which could require expedited freight and tracking to avoid supply disruptions.
Manages manufactured and some purchased parts inventory to reduce on‑hand value, increase inventory turns, and prevent shortages.
Schedules/plans material deliveries through MRP system and provides Supplier training in use of Parts123 portal.
Responsible for maintaining clean unit targets for both body and chassis lines for assigned parts.
Assumes special assignments as directed by the Planning Team Leader or Director including backup support for team members as needed.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Working knowledge of MRP or equivalent material planning system.
Working knowledge of manufacturing processes and supply chain management.
Excellent organizational and computer skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
Ability to interact effectively with all levels within the company as well as with outside vendors.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High School Graduate.
2-4 years’ experience in material planning, inventory management, purchasing, or a related position.
All candidates must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s Degree in business, finance or supply chain management.
