Construction Management is responsible for supervising and coordinating all on‑site construction activities through installation on a project or multiple projects. Monitors quality and safety in the field. Provides technical expertise and ensures work in place meets quality requirements of contract documents, applicable codes, and Disney standards. Coordinate and work with contractors, operations, vendors, and governmental agencies. They will ensure that all team members are meeting the schedule, budget, and quality requirements outlined in the project scope, and will effectively manage and mitigate issues that arise internally or on the client side.
This role is located in Lake Buena Vista, Florida.
You will report to a General Superintendent.
This role is a Project Hire position without any guarantee of permanent placement.
Primary Duties
Evaluates risk early in project and provides strategic thinking expertise during pre‑construction
Identifies and monitors applicable points of coordination at multiple levels
Arbitrates on‑site conflicts between contractors
Leads commissioning activities outlined in specifications and codes
Leads overall QA/QC program
Leads Superintendents and Assistants, provides guidance on how to fully handle issues, takes command of superintendant reported issues that require elevation
Leads communication, coordinates, and collaborates project specific priorities with WDI Project Superintendents, contractors, clients, consultants, schedulers, controllers, and project team members
Ultimately responsible for all field activities / safety / quality
Intervenes on any inspection issues and manages the Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) relations
Seeks and shares field lessons learned with other projects
Key stakeholder in developing logistics, field interface ride and show requirements
Arbitrates on‑site conflicts
Requirements
Strong organization and tracking skills
Collaboration and relationship building
Ability to lead Pull Planning & collaborate with Planner / Scheduler
Technical experience and expertise in all areas of construction field activities
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
Competent in Office and project related software for given intended project: BIM 360 Field/Glue/Documents, Bluebeam, BOX, etc.
Project management (document control) platforms for RFI/Submittal management Smartsheet, NexGEN, PDC, Egnyte, etc.
Additional software knowledge P6 scheduling, AutoCAD, Revit, Netpoint
Education
High school degree or equivalent
2 years of undergraduate schooling in related field of construction
Experience
7 years outside field experience in applicable site development (attractions, commercial, residential, retail, or resort development projects) or 7‑10 years WDI project field experience relevant to the area
