Position Overview MHS is seeking a Middle School Track & Field Assistant Coach for the Spring 2025‑2026 season. This ancillary position is one year, running through June, with practices Monday through Friday from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm. Meetings are held on weekdays after school/evenings and some weekend events may be required. Off‑season work is flexible but necessary. Stipend: $3,561‑$4,630 per season, based on experience and full participation.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
Valid driver’s license.
At least 1 year of successful coaching experience or experience playing at the collegiate level.
Knowledge of current coaching techniques, rules, regulations, and training theory for the sport.
Ability to teach beginner skills while developing athletes at various skill levels in a positive, professional manner.
Experience coaching throwing events (shot put and discus) at the middle school level.
Ability to lead and inspire diverse youth; experience working with students from disadvantaged backgrounds preferred.
Skill in providing safe, structured skill‑development practice and playing experiences while fostering high character in student‑athletes.
Strong organizational and planning skills.
Uphold high ethical standards, serving as a role model and demonstrating commitment to student engagement.
Willingness to engage actively with students beyond job responsibilities.
Schedule & Employment Type Part‑time – Temporary work.
