Assistant or Associate Engineer Assistant Engineer - $43.64/hour - $55.68/hour

Associate Engineer (Registered) - $56.00/hour - $71.50/hour

This position supports Dam Safety and reports to the Hydroelectric office located in Colfax, California.

Job Overview To perform professional engineering work involving the planning, design, and construction of improvements to District facilities, including dams, canals, and other water‑retaining and conveyance features; to ensure compliance with federal and state dam safety regulations; to perform condition assessments and inspections of District facilities; to conduct and review engineering studies; and to coordinate and oversee the work of consultants.

General Qualifications and Special Requirements Assistant Engineer Experience: One year of related professional experience is desirable.

Education: Equivalent to a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in engineering or a related field.

License:

Possession of valid California driver’s license.

Possession of a valid certificate of registration as an Engineer‑in‑Training.

Associate Engineer Experience: Three years of responsible experience similar to Assistant Engineer with the Nevada Irrigation District.

Education: Equivalent to a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in engineering or a related field.

License:

Possession of valid California driver’s license.

Possession of a valid certificate of registration as a Professional Civil Engineer in California.
