Senior Systems Design Engineer - Twin Cities MN Medical Device - Permanent Hybrid Opportunity base + bonus

We're partnering with a medtech company that's pushing boundaries in patient monitoring technology. They're looking for a Senior Systems Design Engineer to take a lead role in shaping next-generation devices. This is a hybrid, direct-hire position where your work will directly influence product design and usability.

About the Role You will be the bridge between customer needs and technical execution, turning insights into system-level requirements and guiding development across hardware, software, and mechanical components. This role is hands‑on and collaborative, with opportunities to mentor, improve processes, and ensure compliance with global standards.

Responsibilities

Translate user needs into clear system requirements

Drive system-level design and integration across multiple disciplines

Oversee verification and validation to meet regulatory standards

Collaborate with clinicians, customers, and internal teams

Champion best practices and continuous improvement

Ideal Candidate Has

Engineering degree and 5+ years in systems design/sustaining engineering

Experience in regulated environments (FDA design controls, ISO 13485, IEC 60601‑1)

Strong ability to manage requirements and lead cross‑functional efforts

Familiarity with requirements management tools (Polarion, Jama, DOORS)

Background in clinical settings and direct user interaction

Excellent communication and problem‑solving skills
