Behavior Specialist - Delaware Community Schpp;

Full‑time APSTA Employment Opportunity We are seeking a dedicated Classroom-Based Behavior Specialist to join our team in a social-emotional classroom setting. The primary responsibility of this role is to provide direct social-emotional and behavioral support and intervention to students within the classroom environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal skills, expertise in behavior management strategies, and a passion for supporting students with diverse needs. Responsibilities:

Implement district‑adopted models, policies, procedures, and documentation (i.e. MTSS, PBIS, TCIS, FBAs, BIPs, ICMPs, etc.) at the classroom level. Consult, train, and support classroom staff on collection, entry, and analysis of data utilized in progress monitoring; help to determine the behavioral impact on academic progress and develop indicators of academic, social emotional, and behavioral health of students in the classroom. Provides consultation and intervention regarding behavior management, effective education and assessment of behavioral needs of students with and without disabilities. Valid NYS certification as a School Psychologist, School Social Worker, School Counselor or Special Education Teacher is required BCBA or coursework in Applied Behavior Analysis preferred Must have strong working knowledge of PBIS/Rtl/MTSS Experience working with children/adolescents with a variety of psychiatric and/or behavioral disorders Experience developing Functional Behavioral Assessments, positive behavioral supports Experience working with staff and administrators on interventions to support student behavior This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of students by providing essential support and guidance in their social‑emotional and behavioral development within an alternative learning setting.
