Assembler 1st Shift
– Royston Group, Bessemer, AL
Report to: Manufacturing Supervisor – Classification: Hourly.
Position Summary: Assemble and repair complex components to meet product design specifications.
Essential Duties / Job Responsibilities
Use job‑specific tools and equipment to align materials and assemble or repair parts to build complex units.
Take precise measurements to ensure accurate fit of components as per design.
Select or modify components according to specifications.
Inspect components prior to assembly to detect and report on defective materials, malfunctions, or questionable conditions.
Ensure that assembled items meet quality specifications.
Perform material handling functions, including loading materials for job runs using hoist or forklift.
Minimum Qualifications / Skills
High School Degree or GED.
Ability to work independently within a team environment.
Ability to read and operate measurement tools.
Strong attention to detail.
Ability to read and understand blueprints, drawings, diagrams, and schematics.
Ability to skillfully and safely operate job‑specific tools and equipment.
Strong verbal communication skills.
Experience High School Diploma or equivalent.
Prior experience as an assembler and in manufacturing is preferred.
Technical knowledge and ability to read blueprints, drawings, etc.
Requirements The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee will stand or walk for prolonged periods, occasionally sit, use hands to handle or feel objects, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, talk or hear, and must lift up to 50 lbs. unaided. Ability to work according to a schedule.
