Title MAINTENANCE ELECTRICIAN - 3rd Shift
Location Elk Grove Village, IL
Shift 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM (Occasional OT: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
Employment Type Full-Time, Direct Hire
Compensation $36/hr + $1.50/hr shift differential + Overtime + Quarterly Bonus
Position Overview Our client is seeking a Maintenance Electrician to maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and calibrate production electrical systems within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role supports continuous operations and works closely with the Maintenance Lead, Manufacturing Engineer, and Production Supervisors to resolve issues and minimize production downtime.
Key Responsibilities
Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and documentation on motors, generators, control panels, switches, circuits, breakers, and related equipment.
Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems using meters, scopes, electronic test equipment, and schematic diagrams.
Install, modify, and upgrade electrical equipment while ensuring minimal impact to production.
Diagnose failures and determine safe temporary or permanent solutions.
Repair motors, cranes, generators, and related equipment; perform basic mechanical repairs as needed.
Monitor, inspect, and calibrate computer relay and automated control systems.
Start, stop, and adjust gas-fired industrial ovens.
Assist during emergency breakdowns and rigging tasks as needed.
Maintain clean, safe work areas and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent required.
Strong knowledge of AC/DC motors, generators, relay systems, variable speed drives, and PLCs.
Experience with solid-state control systems and electrical test equipment.
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and blueprints.
Familiar with applicable codes and proper installation practices.
Must supply personal tools.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physically demanding work.
