Position Overview We’re looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Estimator to join our engineering team. This role is key to the success of our projects—responsible for accurate budgeting, initial structural design concepts, and close collaboration with our sales team. You’ll help shape the scope and feasibility of custom crane systems, ensuring our solutions are both cost-effective and structurally sound.
Key Responsibilities
Develop detailed project cost estimates based on customer specifications, site conditions, and engineering requirements
Create initial structural design concepts and layouts for overhead crane systems
Collaborate with the sales team to review proposals, clarify technical details, and support client presentations
Analyze drawings, specifications, and RFQs to determine labor, material, and equipment costs
Coordinate with engineering, production, and purchasing teams to validate pricing and timelines
Maintain organized records of estimates, revisions, and project assumptions
Provide value-engineering suggestions to optimize design and cost without compromising quality
Participate in project kickoff meetings and handoffs to ensure smooth execution
Qualifications
Experience in estimating, structural design, or project engineering—preferably in industrial or construction settings
Strong understanding of steel structures, mechanical systems, and fabrication processes
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and CAD software (AutoCAD, Inventor, or similar)
Excellent communication skills and ability to work across departments
Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Ability to manage multiple estimates and deadlines with minimal supervision
