Overview

Seeking dedicated and compassionate DSPs to support young adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities and complex behavioral health needs in an OPWDD IRA setting. This IRA provides daily structure and environmental supports that foster safety, independence, and meaningful interactions with the environment. Staff will complete specialized Positive Behavior Supports training and implement evidence-based interventions used in Behavior Support Plans. Responsibilities

Assists in training and treatment plans as prescribed in specific areas under the direction of their supervisor. Reports on program individuals’ progress as required. Assists program individuals with recreational activities as stated on the monthly calendar. Participates in staff meetings and in-service trainings as necessary or as indicated by their supervisor. Assists program individuals with grooming needs as required. Drives Agency vehicles for program participant transportation, shopping, or other related ICF business. Provides sensory and social stimulation to program individuals under the direction of the Recreational Therapist. Assists those program individuals during mealtimes by obtaining utensils for them, pouring drinks, arranging wheelchairs, and wiping mouths. No actual feeding should take place. Other duties may include, but are not limited to: laundry, housecleaning, procurement of groceries, meal preparation, and other tasks in maintaining an Intermediate Care Facility. Minimum Qualifications

A High School Diploma or GED NYS Driver's License with satisfactory driving record Salary and Benefits
