Registered Nurse (RN) Transplant Bariatric Surgery Acute Care/Step Down - Weekender - ( 2600004W )
Lerner Tower 9 is a surgical floor. We are a nationally recognized solid organ transplant floor. This means we transplant the liver, the kidney and the pancreas. Our staff is specially trained to take care of the patients directly from the PACU, so they can bypass the ICU (intensive care unit). Our supportive staff is the number one reason why nursing staff start with us and stay with us. Lerner Tower 9 takes in new nursing staff and treats them like their own. Individuals hired for a Weekender position are required to work two (2) 12-hour shifts between 7:00 PM Friday and 7:00 AM Monday. In return for this commitment, Weekenders will be compensated at 1.5 times their regular hourly rate for these shifts. Individuals in Weekender roles qualify for full-time medical and dental benefits, whereas eligibility for all other benefits is at part-time levels. Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.
Position Requirements: Thorough knowledge of nursing process and practice. Uses a wide variety of technical equipment to meet patient needs and prescribed medical therapies (i.e. Stethoscopes, thermometers, sphygmomanometers and electronic monitoring devices. Demonstrates a professional demeanor when responding to patients.
1 year of RN experience required
Education Requirements: Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.
Minimum of Diploma/Associate’s Degree in nursing from accredited program.
License Requirements: Registered nurse with current license to practice in the state of Ohio.
Current BLS Provider Certification, issued by the American Heart Association, must be obtained during Nursing Orientation
