Origin Travel Nurses
The MRI Technician is responsible for positioning patients on the examining table and placing specified coils (receivers) close to the area of interest, following protocols requested by the Radiologist. The role includes using a microphone to facilitate communication between the patient and technologist during examinations, entering patient data into the computer, and monitoring patient safety and comfort throughout the imaging process.
Responsibilities
Position patients correctly for MRI scans and ensure proper coil placement.
Utilize a microphone for effective communication during examinations.
Input necessary data such as patient history and imaging protocols into the computer.
Observe patients through a control room and closed circuit TV for safety and comfort.
Review images on display screens to ensure quality and clarity.
Alert staff to the presence of metal in the magnet room.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
1-3 years of experience as an MRI Technician.
Graduate of an accredited Radiology program.
New Jersey State RT License.
MR Certification.
BLS Certification.
Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently.
