Thompson First Group is currently seeking a qualified Corrugating/ConvertingMachine Operator for a local client in Dover, DE. Candidates who have a high proficiency operating converting orCorrugating machinery are encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities
Machine Operation:
Assist in the operation of various corrugated manufacturing machinery, including die cutters, folder-gluers, flexo printing presses, and corrugators. Follow machine startup and shutdown procedures. Quality Assurance:
Conduct regular quality checks on raw materials and finished products to ensure compliance with specifications. Use measuring tools (calipers, gauges) to verify dimensions and quality standards. Setup and Adjustment:
Help in the setup and adjustment of machinery for different product specifications, including size changes and material adjustments. Assist in troubleshooting issues related to production setups. Maintenance:
Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as lubricating machinery, replacing worn parts, and conducting minor repairs. Maintain a clean and organized workspace to ensure operational efficiency and safety. Production Monitoring:
Monitor production processes closely, reporting any irregularities or equipment malfunctions to the lead operator. Track production metrics and assist in achieving production targets. Documentation:
Maintain accurate records of production output, materials used, machine settings, and downtime incidents. Assist in compiling reports for management review. Collaboration:
Work closely with the lead operator and other team members to ensure seamless workflow and efficient operations. Participate in team meetings to discuss production goals, safety practices, and improvement initiatives. Safety Compliance:
Follow all safety protocols and standard operating procedures (SOPs) to promote a safe work environment. Participate in safety training and drills as required. Continuous Improvement:
Engage in training and development programs to enhance skills and knowledge. Contribute ideas for process improvements and efficiency gains. Qualifications
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in manufacturing or a related field is a plus. Experience:
Previous experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in corrugated, packaging, or related industries. Familiarity with manufacturing processes and equipment is highly desirable. Skills:
Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to operate machinery safely and efficiently. Proficiency in using hand tools and measuring instruments. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. Ability to read and interpret production schedules, work orders, and safety documents. Basic computer skills for data entry and reporting.
Teamwork:
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment. Communication:
Good verbal and written communication skills to follow instructions and report issues clearly. Flexibility:
Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed. All other duties as assigned. Physical Requirements
Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds regularly and safely. Capability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks with precision.
