Responsibilities

Lead and conduct comprehensive Family and Investigative Assessments, exercising sound judgment and expertise to make an immediate and meaningful impact.

Be the go-to professional for a range of child welfare needs, from conducting follow-up home visits to managing in‑home services and foster care cases.

Safely and responsibly transport clients, ensuring their well‑being every step of the way.

Prepare and deliver reports for court, documenting every contact and treatment plan with precision and clarity, ensuring the system runs smoothly.

Serve as a credible expert witness in court, delivering clear, well‑supported findings and providing testimony in hearings with professionalism, confidence, and authority.

Engage with the public, even in challenging situations, motivating others and ensuring safety for all involved—especially when dealing with differing views on laws, rules, or policies.

Qualifications

A Master’s degree in Social Work from an accredited school (Child Welfare Collaborative) plus one year of social work experience.

A Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from an accredited school (Child Welfare Collaborative) with one year of social work or counseling experience.

A Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from an accredited school and two years of social work or counseling experience.

A Master’s degree in a related field of study from an accredited school, plus two years of social work or counseling experience.

A four‑year degree in Human Services or a related field with three years of social work or counseling experience.

A Bachelor’s degree and four years of experience in rehabilitation, pastoral counseling, or a related human services field, with expertise in casework, group work, or community organization.

Additional Requirements

A certified college transcript and letter of reference will be required upon request.

Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

License/Credentials

A valid N.C. driver’s license is required for this role, along with a clean driving record that aligns with Alamance County’s policies.

Work Environment Standard office environment.

Retirement Benefits – Membership in NC Local Government Employees Retirement System (NCLGERS). Employees contribute six percent of compensation before it is taxed; after five years of service they are 100% vested.

Vacation – Accrues based on service level and hire date, with specific days per year as outlined.

Sick Time – All full‑time employees earn a bank of sick hours to be used when they are away from work for illness or related appointments.

County Observed Holidays – Paid holidays per State of North Carolina Holiday Schedule.
