Responsibilities
Help maintain a safe, healthy, and organized working environment for all areas of the manufacturing and support process.
Ensure all safety protocols and policies are understood and upheld through the use of testing equipment.
Lead the daily preparation and delivery of materials to the glaze line while ensuring that the team and the customer are always cared for. Prepare necessary materials for and from the I‑Tech system.
Fill out the Tank Tour Form daily, the inventory of glazes and pastes.
Perform tests such as liquid density, 325 m residue, viscosity, and glaze slides for comparison to the lab standards. Use the Gloss Meter and Colorimeter to understand color measurements. Learn and understand color theory and color corrections.
Assist and/or perform and record results of all tests completed to assist in establishing baselines and analyzing trends.
Use and navigate software such as Windows & Microsoft Office, and learn new software on the I‑Tech and batching equipment.
Define opportunities, identify problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Monitor equipment and/or processes and ensure timely reporting of any unusual problems to the Glaze Prep Lead or Technical Manager.
Follow company operating procedures and guidelines.
Qualifications & Skills
Dal‑Tile certified to operate powered industrial trucks.
Basic computer literacy and ability to use Windows and Microsoft Office.
Knowledge of glaze raw materials and additives.
Knowledge of all testing procedures.
Good oral and written communication skills.
Good record‑keeping skills.
Good listening skills.
Accurate measurement capability.
Good math skills.
Ability to work with others (teamwork).
Ability to understand and speak basic English.
