Yard Technician
with experience troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues, strong customer service skills, and a passion for quality, safety, and teamwork. If you take pride in maintaining equipment, supporting customers, and keeping a clean and organized yard, we encourage you to apply.
About the Role As a Yard Technician, you will play a key role in preparing rental equipment for customers, supporting front‑line customer interactions, and maintaining the overall appearance and safety of the yard. This is a hands‑on position working with both small and large (heavy) equipment.
Key Responsibilities
Wash, detail, and prepare rental equipment prior to delivery
Inspect returned equipment and perform minor repairs to ensure it is rent‑ready
Load and unload equipment and interact professionally with customers during equipment pickup and return
Communicate rental details clearly with customers and the Rental Coordinator
Hook up and receive trailers and smaller rented items
Assist with organizing and improving the overall appearance of the yard
Prepare the yard for opening and closing each business day
Deliver a positive customer experience by being helpful, courteous, and solution‑oriented
Follow all safety policies and procedures
Qualifications Required
Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record and reliable transportation
Previous customer service experience with a strong focus on professionalism and communication
Ability to pass drug and alcohol testing and commit to a drug‑free workplace
Ability to pass forklift, AWP, and propane training
Strong focus on safety
Ability to follow instructions and work toward established goals
Comfortable working independently with limited supervision
Ability to work a fluctuating schedule, including some Saturdays
Preferred
Experience troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues
Previous experience working with rental or heavy equipment
Experience working directly with customers in a fast‑paced environment
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand for extended periods of time
Ability to walk, bend, lift, push, pull, and reach throughout the shift
Ability to lift up to
75 pounds
multiple times per day
