Promote and practice safe work habits while performing basic repairs and services on light, heavy duty, and diesel trucks; road construction and maintenance equipment; hydraulic systems; and electrical components. How you will contribute
Diagnose and Repair: Diagnose, repair and complete basic tasks on a variety of equipment types such as tires, brakes, lighting, pumps and valves. Use basic scan tools to read and clear check engine light codes. Maintain Documents and Records: Prepare, process, and maintain required maintenance and repair documentation. Generate documents and work orders in computer system. Perform time and leave entry in appropriate systems. Perform Manual Labor: Prepare, process, and maintain required maintenance and repair documentation. Generate documents and work orders in computer system. Perform time and leave entry in appropriate systems. Preventative Maintenance: Perform preventive maintenance on vehicles and equipment according to the preventative maintenance schedule and guidelines. What will make you successful
Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing. Ability to follow oral and written instructions. Ability to perform manual labor. Ability to read and comprehend and apply information from service and equipment manuals. Ability to record and maintain data in computer systems. Knowledge of general shop procedures. Skill in performing light vehicle services and repairs. Skill in the use of computers for research, navigation and communication. Minimum Qualifications
Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing. Ability to follow oral and written instructions. Ability to perform manual labor. Ability to read, comprehend, apply information from service and equipment manuals. Ability to record and maintain data in computer systems. Knowledge of general shop procedures. Safety shoes required. Skill in performing light vehicle services and repairs. Skill in the use of computers for research, navigation and communication. Valid driver's license. Additional Considerations
A combination of training, experience, or education in Engineering, or related field desired. Ability to obtain a VSP State Inspectors license within 2 years of employment. Ability to obtain a commercial drivers license. Experience which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position. Experience with performing light vehicle services and repairs.
