Overview Wynoochee Project Maintenance Technician performs skilled work in the maintenance, repair, and operation of the Wynoochee Hydroelectric Project facilities, equipment, fish handling and recreational facilities. Assures proper operation and maintenance of machinery, equipment, and facilities by performing various routine electrical, mechanical, plumbing, carpentry, fleet maintenance, janitorial, painting and welding work as required.

Schedule & Housing Technicians will work a 10‑day on/3‑day off, 5‑day on/2‑day off, 4‑day on/4‑day off schedule and will be required to perform mandatory standby duty that provides 24‑hour coverage for the project by at least one of the staff. Employees must live on site while on standby duty. Housing is provided at the project at no cost to the employee.

Responsibilities

Methods, equipment and materials used in mechanical and electrical maintenance and repair, construction, welding and metal fabrication, carpentry, plumbing, heating and ventilating systems.

Safe working clearances for energized conductors.

Perform high voltage switching.

Health and safety regulations.

Applicable laws, codes, regulations, policies and procedures.

Mechanical, hydraulic and electrical principles.

Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.

Analyze situations accurately and adapt an effective course of action.

Work independently with little direction.

Work from blueprints, shop drawings, schematics and sketches.

Operate a computer terminal.

Qualifications Graduation from high school or equivalent, certificate of completion from a technical vocational college in an electrical or mechanical trade or industrial maintenance technologies and three years of experience in electrical/mechanical maintenance duties at a hydroelectric plant or industrial facility. Work experience may be substituted for education on a year for year basis.

Licenses, Certifications, and Other Requirements

Valid Washington State Commercial Driver’s License, Class A, with tank endorsement and no air‑brake restrictions required before completion of probation.

Certification in First-Aid, CPR, Automatic External Defibrillator, and Flagging.

Pass a written exam on flood watch and turbine/generator procedures before completion of probation.

Be granted unrestricted respirator clearance before completion of probation.

Pay Details Hourly Rate: $46.45 - $49.81
