Reputable law firm is hiring a full-time Litigation Paralegal/Legal Assistant for its office in the Marin area. This role provides direct support to attorneys managing active litigation matters and is well-suited for a professional who is organized, detail-driven, and comfortable handling multiple deadlines.
The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of California court procedures, experience with filings across various counties, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. Prior experience in insurance defense is a plus.
Responsibilities include:
Drafting, preparing, and filing complaints and coordinating service of process
Preparing and filing pleadings, motions, and deposition notices
Drafting correspondence related to claims, inspections, and examinations
Preparing internal reports and case summaries
Managing court deadlines and maintaining an electronic calendaring system
Filing documents in California state and federal courts, with occasional filings in other jurisdictions
Maintaining and organizing electronic and physical case files
Reviewing and summarizing records, including damage analyses and demand packages
This position has a hybrid work schedule, requiring at least three days per week in the office.
