Audio/Video Security Technician – Greenville, SC Reports to the Alpharetta, GA office and supports business between Greenville, SC and Atlanta, GA including surrounding areas. Candidates must reside in or around the Greenville, SC area. This role is full‑time.

Description:

Phoenix Systems is growing and seeks an experienced Audio/Video installation technician to provide world‑class service to high‑end clients.

Starting salary range:

$22.00–$26.00 per hour (depending on experience and certifications).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Perform service, installation, and activation of security systems, surround sound systems, system components, speakers, TV hangs, and remote controls.

Perform rough‑in and trim work on houses in construction.

Identify and repair security system malfunctions and false alarms.

Troubleshoot and repair existing wiring for Phone/Data/Intercom/Security/WAPs/Basic Audio/Cameras/etc.

Learn and understand the security systems Phoenix installs and services (2GIG, DSC, QOLSYS, etc.).

Handle installation of networking requirements for routers, switches, DVRs, network components, WAPs, etc.

Learn and understand monitoring protocol with Phoenix/Monitoring Station/Primary Responders for alarms.

Communicate with customers to review work orders.

Provide instruction/training to customers/end users on system functions and operations.

Accurately assess system design and functionality when adding additional components.

Handle after‑hours emergency service calls (on rotation).

Communicate pricing for monitoring rate tiers to customers.

Install, set up, and train homeowners on AV component packages.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications And Education Requirements

Minimum of 2 years of experience with security/AV installations.

In depth knowledge of security system operation, functions, and wiring requirements.

Understanding of cable types and technologies and ability to select appropriate types.

Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, maintain a positive attitude, and provide exemplary customer service.

Ability to work in a clean and unobtrusive manner.

Ability to work independently and complete assignments within standard accepted practices.

Willingness to obtain basic tools necessary for job duties.

Must clear a background check and drug screening.

Clear MVR required.

Technical or vocational related schooling is preferred.

Physical Requirements

Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, reach, stoop, kneel, talk, and hear.

Frequent use of step and extension ladders.

Frequent lifting up to 50 pounds; occasional lifting up to 100 pounds.

Frequent day trips and some overnight trips required.

Active construction sites.
