Wheel Clamp Operator

We have three manufacturing facilities, multiple corporate-owned retail showrooms, and a global distribution network. We have an opening for a Wheel Clamp Operator at our Manlius, NY facility.
Position Overview The Wheel Clamp Operator will provide a high level of service to ensure employee, customer, team member, and vendor satisfaction. The Wheel Clamp Operator does this by building sub-assemblies through the use of a glue wheel or clamp machine by pressing together sub-assemblies that go into major components or assemblies later. The Wheel Clamp Operator completes these functions in the manufacture of furniture parts and pieces.
Job Responsibilities
Identify a variety of wood species products including but not limited to the following wood species: Cherry, Mahogany, Oak, Maple, Birch, and Veneers
Reports to their supervisor for direction daily and promptly report any questions or problems
Read, comprehend, and fulfill production tickets and print scan tags as needed
Read and interpret part drawings
Inspect parts for quality and dimensional accuracy
Perform preventive maintenance as required by preventative maintenance sheets and correctly log any and all preventive maintenance done with any corresponding machine problems and or information
Set up work in the safest, most efficient manner per specifications and when no other jobs are noted as needed line up jobs in a manner that minimizes setup time
Operate assigned machines in a safe manner
Set up, operate, and maintain wheel/clamp presses and ensure dimensional accuracy based on prescribed pressures and utilize powered and unpowered hand tools on a daily basis
Essential Knowledge, Skills
Ability to apply basic mathematical concepts such as adding, counting, subtracting, multiplying, dividing and knowledge of weights and measure, utilize measuring tools such as tape measures and other measuring devices to sufficiently handle job tasks
Understand and respond appropriately to basic customer and employee inquiries
Read, write and communicate using English language sufficient to perform job functions (Other preferences will be given for special language skills when there is a business need)
Knowledge of company's mission, purpose, goals and the role of every employee in achieving each of them
Ability to operate facility equipment as required in assigned area
Ability to interpret company documents and literature and UPC information
