Purchasing Assistant (Finance)

Mill-Max Mfg. Corp., in Oyster Bay, NY, has an opportunity available for a Purchasing Assistant to join our team. We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated individual to work closely with suppliers, vendors, and various internal departments to assist with the procurement of materials, supplies, and services essential for the manufacturing process.

Job Responsibilities

Assist in the procurement of raw materials, consumables, and supplies needed for manufacturing.

Review and process purchase orders in a timely manner.

Communicate with suppliers to negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, and terms.

Monitor and track inventory levels to prevent shortages and overstocking.

Maintain accurate records of purchase orders, supplier communications, and shipments.

Ensure that materials meet the required quality standards and are delivered on time.

Coordinate with the accounting department to ensure accurate invoice and payment.

Help resolve any issues with deliveries, quality, or pricing discrepancies.

Prepare and maintain reports related to purchasing activities.

Job Requirements

High School Diploma

3 years experience in purchasing, supply chain, or a similar administrative role.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Good communication and negotiation skills.

Ability to work effectively and multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Familiarity with manufacturing processes, industrial procurement, and inventory management.

Basic knowledge of contracts and vendor agreements.

Job Details

Reports to Department Manager.

Full-time, Hourly Employee.

First Shift: 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday to Friday.

Pay: $25.00 - $28.00 per hour.
