Mars Wrigley - Machine Operator Night Shift Hackettstown, NJ
Starting rate: $2.5+/hour (based on experience) and $2/hour shift premium.
This site manufactures chocolate and peanut M&Ms.
Required Shift Shift: Third Shift. Schedule: 2-2-3 (rotating). Hours: 6:30 PM – 7:00 AM (Day Shift).
Description of Role Machine Operators/Team Members are experts in operating equipment, machinery, and systems within their assigned area. They are responsible for ensuring the efficient production of high‑quality products, performing machine operations and changeovers, and supporting the training of other team members.
What are we looking for? Minimum Requirements
High School Diploma or GED
Minimum of one (1) year of experience in a manufacturing environment
Proficient in using computers and PC software, including Microsoft Office and email
Physical Requirements
Can perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.
Frequent lifting/carrying (10‑50 lbs.) and pushing/pulling (50‑300 lbs.)
Frequent bending, stooping, twisting, handling, and gripping.
Ability to work at elevated heights, climb stairs, lean over equipment, and operate in confined spaces.
Ability to stand and work on feet for extended periods, with shifts lasting 12 hours.
Capable of working in hot, cold and wet conditions.
Proficient in understanding, communicating, reading, and writing in English.
This is a Peanut facility.
Preferred Qualifications
Technical degree or certification
2+ years of experience in a manufacturing setting operating a variety of machines
Ability to operate a forklift
OSHA certification
Experience with SAP
Key Responsibilities
Assess and operate manufacturing equipment, performing routine repairs, adjustments, and troubleshooting as needed.
Identify and resolve problems to their root cause, taking appropriate corrective actions.
Collaborate with Maintenance to perform and complete equipment preventative maintenance (PM).
Conduct and document quality control (QC) tasks, including metal checks, inspection of date codes, item numbers, dump logs, and waste performance.
Maintain detailed and accurate logbooks, ensuring all shift support documentation is completed safely and in compliance with quality standards.
Perform any additional ad hoc tasks as assigned.
