Job Description DeAngelo Contracting Services (DCS) is seeking a Welder. The ideal candidate for this position has prior welding experience and is mechanically inclined. The right person will have experience with metal fabrication.
Daily Tasks and Responsibilities:
Assembles key components to existing vehicles, at assigned workstations, performing any combination of following tasks according to specifications and using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and production fixtures.
Read and interpret specifications.
Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements
Set up components for welding according to specifications (e.g. cut material with powered saws to match measurements)
Operate angle grinders to prepare the parts that must be welded
Align components using calipers, rulers etc. and clamp pieces
Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions (vertical, horizontal or overhead)
Repair machinery and other components by welding pieces and filling gaps
Test and inspect welded surfaces and structure to discover flaws
Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety
Experience with installing crash attenuator assemblies onto existing frames/chassis a plus.
Mechanically inclined, experience with using floor jacks, Oil change, filter change, fluid change and tire change.
Qualifications Minimum Qualifications:
Must be 18 years of age or older.
Valid driver's license with 5years of clean driving record.
Experience in heavy truck (gas and diesel) repair.
Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen, background, and/or MVR check.
Technical educational training in Mechanics is preferred.
Experience in welding/fabrication required.
Experience working on smaller hand tools such as, chainsaws, trimmers, and leaf blowers.
Experience working on mowers, skid steers, spray equipment/ systems are a plus.
Ability to work overtime a plus.
