As a Direct Support Professional (DSP), you'll support the overall well‑being of Anderson students and residents, help organize and manage activities, assist the Residence Manager and Shift Supervisor with the implementation of systems within the house in which you work, communicate and collaborate as needed with families/caregivers/teachers/therapists, maintain appropriate student or classroom‑related documentation, and help residents foster the development of skills, greater independence, and expanded self‑confidence using customized interventions as identified in student support and behavior plans.

Pay Range: $19.50 - $24.37 Hourly; Based on education, experience and RBT certification.

Schedules Sundays & Saturdays 8:00am - 3:00pm & 2:00pm - 10:00pm Monday - Friday 2:00pm - 10:00pm

Responsibilities

Provides appropriate supervision to ensure the health and safety of students.

Works to increase student independence in daily living, communication, recreation and social skills domains.

Takes an active role to ensure preparedness and organization within the residential environment.

Assists with training formal and informal student learning goals.

Acts as a member of a residential team representing student progress, challenges and abilities in a respectful manner.

Demonstrates Professionalism

Supports good health (food prep, toileting, hygiene, etc.)

Supports safety

Promotes being active and productive in society

Requirements

High School Diploma/GED

NYS Driver's License preferred

Must be able to work 2nd or 3rd shifts and weekends

Must complete two‑week orientation and maintain training or qualifications as they relate to Anderson Center for Autism
