Description Corporate Building and Maintenance Engineer – PruittHealth

PruittHealth is seeking a skilled

Corporate Building and Maintenance Engineer

to manage the technical operation, maintenance, and reliability of all

mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems , structural components, and

life-safety systems

across corporate properties. This role ensures optimal building performance through advanced diagnostics, preventive and corrective maintenance, and

building automation system (BAS)

monitoring. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise, the ability to prioritize high-impact repairs, and a commitment to maintaining

Class A building standards .

As the primary technical resource, this position coordinates contractor activities, supports capital improvements, system upgrades, and long-term asset planning for multiple corporate facilities.

Core Responsibilities

Operate, diagnose, and maintain HVAC systems, chillers, cooling towers, pumps, and related controls.

Inspect and maintain electrical distribution equipment including switchgear, panels, breakers, ATS systems, and generators.

Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical faults, ensuring system reliability.

Maintain BAS functionality through trend review, setpoint optimization, and alarm response.

General Repairs & Facility Maintenance

Perform repairs to doors, hardware, drywall, flooring, ceilings, and cabinetry.

Troubleshoot and repair plumbing fixtures, valves, pumps, and drainage systems.

Maintain roofs, drains, and building envelopes to prevent leaks and structural damage.

Ensure compliance with OSHA, NFPA, and local building codes.

Inspect fire alarm panels, sprinkler systems, emergency lighting, and exit signs.

Respond promptly to emergencies involving HVAC, electrical, or plumbing failures.

Coordinate contractors for specialized maintenance and capital projects.

Verify contractor compliance with safety and quality standards.

Support construction activities, tenant buildouts, and equipment replacements.

Utilize CMMS or work-order systems for tracking maintenance and inspections.

Maintain technical documentation, schematics, and warranty records.

Assist in budget planning and recommend cost-effective maintenance solutions.

Advanced troubleshooting across MEP systems.

Strong knowledge of building automation, HVAC controls, and energy management.

Ability to manage multiple priorities and respond to critical issues.

Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Leadership mindset for guiding contractors and support staff.

Qualifications Required:

High school diploma or GED.

3–7 years of experience in corporate building maintenance or engineering.

Expertise in mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.

Experience with BAS systems and complex HVAC operations.

Ability to read schematics and technical manuals.

Basic computer skills (Excel, Outlook, Word).

Preferred:

Technical training in building systems or engineering technology.

Experience managing contractors and capital projects.

Familiarity with maintenance platforms and automated scheduling.
