Service Technician / Mechanic – Construction Equipment (Sioux Falls, SD) Hourly + Bonus + Employee Ownership
Are you mechanically inclined and experienced with construction or heavy equipment? A well-established, employee‑owned equipment and supply company in Sioux Falls, SD is looking for a dependable and skilled Service Technician / Shop Mechanic to join their team.
Position Overview This hands‑on role involves performing maintenance and repairs on a range of light‑to‑mid‑sized construction equipment, including boom lifts, scissor lifts, telehandlers, mini‑excavators, skid steers, and related machinery. Your experience with mechanical systems—especially gas/diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical—will be essential.
This is a full‑time, in‑shop position (not field service), ideal for someone who thrives in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities
Troubleshoot and perform repairs on construction equipment and components.
Perform preventative maintenance and ensure equipment is in peak working condition.
Accurately diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
Collaborate with service and parts teams to ensure timely and efficient service.
What We’re Looking For
1+ years of hands‑on mechanical experience (construction, farm, or automotive techs welcome to apply).
Experience working on lifts, telehandlers, or compact construction equipment preferred.
Strong mechanical aptitude and a problem‑solving mindset.
Ability to work independently and take ownership of responsibilities.
Familiarity with repair documentation and safety procedures.
Nice to Have (But Not Required)
Technical training or education from schools such as Mitchell Tech or Southeast Tech.
Experience in rental equipment, farm equipment repair, or similar fields.
Background in equipment used by concrete or framing contractors.
Compensation & Benefits
