POSITION: APSTAR ASSISTANT OPERATOR
DEPARTMENT: CONVERTING
Shift: 2nd
Pay: $18.47/hr with an increase after 60 days
QUALIFICATIONS: The ability to learn and perform all job functions of the Converting Operator and Converting Assistant Operator daily. The ability to read, comprehend and interpret written and graphic instructions on factory work orders, factory print cards and to understand design specifications. The ability to write, read a tape measure in 1/16 increments, general mathematical knowledge including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. Follow instructions as well as work as a team member.
PRIMARY DUTIES:
Follow all safety rules and practices.
Perform machine set up tasks as directed by the production spec.
Ability to understand a 3-color print spec.
Remove and mount cutting dies and print plates using the 2 people lift when needed.
Recover and add inks, check viscosity and Ph levels and perform wash outs as needed.
Ability to set up the feeder and block pusher.
Completing paperwork and input computer data.
After machine is set up assist operator as needed.
Use of available time to prepare machine for next set up.
Perform other duties as assigned by a Supervisor, Superintendent or Production Manager.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, EDUCATION High School diploma or GED preferred.
Ability to deal with other employees and management in a courteous, tactful, and patient manner.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS May be required to lift heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) occasionally. Standing up to 12 hours per day and walking to and from various machines and locations throughout the facility. Ability to grasp objects with hands and fingers. Ability to repetitively bend and twist at trunk level. Ability to crouch and/or kneel when required.
