General Maintenance Technician - HVAC Specialist II (Holloman Air Force Base)

We are seeking a General Maintenance Technician – HVAC Specialist II to join our military housing team at Holloman Air Force Base. The role involves performing maintenance functions throughout the community, with a focus on HVAC system repair, troubleshooting, and replacement.
Note: This position is located at a federal facility. A REAL‑ID compliant driver’s license/ID is required to access the facility following the REAL ID Act (effective May 7 2025).
Responsibilities
Repair, troubleshoot, and replace HVAC systems and parts.
Respond to service calls, complete COM work, and perform other property maintenance tasks such as cleaning, painting, decorating, lawn maintenance, debris removal, plumbing, electrical work, smoke detector maintenance, light repair or replacement, roof repairs, heating/air systems maintenance, and appliance repairs.
Transport, install, and connect stoves, refrigerators, dishwashers and other electric and gas appliances.
Load and unload trucks and other conveyances; move supplies and materials to proper locations using wheelbarrows or hand trucks; stack materials for storage or binning; collect refuse and salvageable materials.
Transport equipment, furnishings, and appliances to job sites.
Repair and fabricate window and door screens and frames.
Dig, fill, tamp earth excavations; level grounds using hand tools; shovel concrete; clean culverts and ditches; cut tree and brush; operate power tools and lawn mowers.
Remove floor tile, sheet vinyl, ceramic tile, plywood, and damaged drywall.
Operate power blowers or use brooms to clean rooftops, sidewalks, and driveways of leaves and debris; ensure site cleanup.
Respond to and complete on‑call after‑hour emergency and urgent repairs.
Update work order status—including time, materials, and notes—on mobile devices in a timely and accurate manner; submit required paperwork promptly.
Maintain vehicle and vehicle inventory as prescribed.
Requirements
High school diploma or GED equivalent.
3‑5 years of relevant work experience.
Current driver’s license in good standing; must meet the driving record standards outlined in the Company Safe Vehicular Operations Policy.
Proficiency in carpentry, electrical, plumbing, flooring, or appliances.
Ability to provide basic tools and equipment necessary to perform daily duties.
Solid customer service skills.
Basic familiarity with computers and web‑based applications.
Ability to read and write in English, to understand instructions and take direction from supervisors.
Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize work.
Preferred Qualifications
Vocational or technical training.
3‑5 years of work experience in the HVAC field.
